Since its creation three years ago, Silver Star Bike Park has been a huge part of the resort's summer success. Last year, Silver Star joined the Bike Parks BC group – a joint marketing initiative to promote freeride style mountain biking throughout the province.
Other Bike Parks BC members include Whistler Blackcomb, Panorama Mountain Resort, Sun Peaks Resort, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, and Mount Washington on Vancouver Island.

Earlier this year, Bike Parks BC sponsored the "Ultimate Road Trip 2008" contest – an all-inclusive fat tire tour to enjoy a week of mountain biking at the very best bike parks in BC. The Ultimate Road Trip 2008 grand prize features the use of Marin Bike’s 2008 XLT Series Freeride bikes, complete with full riding gear, team jerseys, and professional guiding and coaching from the reigning World Masters Downhill Champ, Shaums March, owner of MMR Bike Camps. All meals and lodging for the winners and their selected guest are included in this prize package.

From Wednesday, July 30 to Friday, Aug. 1, Silver Star Mountain Resort will host the winners of the 'eastern tour.' Wendy Morriseau of Nanaimo and David Thomson of Whitehorse will be given the "A-List treatment" at Silver Star.
