On the Mountain

A new 1.5M Dopplemayr CTEC Unistar quad chairlift replaced the old Silver Queen Chair and will improve access to new ski-in ski-out accommodation. Guests will be able to ski to the new lift from Parking Lot E, and the new Silver Star Road overpass will provide access from the new Ridge neighbourhood. This fixed-grip quad chair has 50% more uphill capacity (1800 skiers per hour) and services slightly more vertical than the previous lift.

Silver Star's grooming fleet is one of the most modern in North America, and we've added a new state-of-the-art Piston-Bully Edge grooming machine to kepp the corduroy silky smooth. This $275,000 machine takes its place alongside eight other cats in the shed - 1 XC cat, 2 winch cats, 1 terrain park cat, 1 passenger cat (Paradise Express), and 4 regular fleet groomers. TELUS Park has also added four new jib features for snowboard and New School grinding and jibbing.

A new Pipe Magician half pipe tool will sculpt perfect half pipes every time in TELUS Park, and will create monster 13 foot high walls and smooth transitions at the bottom so you can boost bigger air than ever!

Off season rock removal and slope grooming took place on our verdent alpine meadows in order to ensure excellent early season conditions.

Restaurants & Village Life

The Club Saloon will be serving lunch and dinner in a family friendly atmosphere with a special kid's menu. The kitchen will be open late for pizza - both eat-in and take-out. Special Saturday Night Hockey in Canada events - watch the big game on high-def Sony flat screen TV's! The whole place will look much brighter and more spruced-up than ever before, and there is even a new dance floor.

Located in the lower level of Silver Star Town Hall, The Den Bistro features table-service breakfast starting at 7:30 each morning. Specialties include home made porridge with poached Okanagan fruits, bacon & eggs, Polar Bear Hot Chocolate and the best coffee in town Live it up with live music 3:00pm to 6:00pm daily; and enjoy ‘Appi Hour’ is from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.

New sports bar at The Bulldog Hotel

Better service in The Market; with more organice and whole food selection, as well as an improved wine and beer offering. The Market will now be open from 9:00 am – 9:00 pm, seven days a week during peak times.

In addition to coffee and candies, Pooh's & Bean's will be serving eight flavours of Breyers hard ice cream this winter.

Our weekly winter events calendar has been revamped for this season. Are you ready for: morning yoga sessions, family bingo night, Friday night at the movies and TWO Nintendo Wii Game nights – including a new sports game night for older gamers, to be held in the NATC Auditorium.

Real Estate Developments

Construction is now underway on the new Alpine Meadows building lots. This exclusive executive subdivision is right on the slopes (below the Attridge Face) and is serviced by its own fixed quad chairlift.

Real estate at Silver Star Mountain Resort continues to be on a strong roll with incredible interest in the first phase of FireLight at the Pond. Even before the first flakes fly for the winter 08 ski season, eighty percent of the 38 homes have been snapped up by purchasers from the local Vernon area, other parts of BC, Canada, United States, UK, Singapore and other overseas buyers. FireLight will be the first and only lodge to enjoy a unique 'pond side' location at Silver Star. Homeowners will be able to take advantage of the much-loved skating pond right outside the door of their mountain home, and will be a short ski over to the new Silver Queen quad chairlift for easy access to Silver Star's 115 trails. FireLight is also adjacent to the popular Tube Town tubing park. Retail space in the ground level of the new development will augment Silver Star's already fabulous dining and shopping experience. At full build-out, there will be 130 mountain homes and 7,000 sq ft of retail space at FireLight Lodge, with the option available for renting out the units and accruing vacation rental revenue. Plans for the release of Phase Two of FireLight on the Pond are underway with more of the same great home plans that are selling so quickly in Phase One.  

Duplex, single family, and single family (with suites) lots in the Ridge subdivision are currently offered for sale. Phase One has almost sold out, Phase Two will be offered for sale very shortly. These spacious lots extend south and west of the resort to offer tremendous views of Kalamalka Lake and the Okanagan Valley; their sunny exposure will even permit the option of utiliizing 'green power' passive solar heating.
